Saving Tips for Busy Families

By Uniroyal Tires

UniroyalWhen you look at the costs of daily travel your family incurs between work, school, practice and meetings, the gas expenses can really add up. However, there are some ways to trim spending so you not only keep money in your pocket, but you also don’t have to cut back on enjoyable activities.

  • Shop around for gas using the internet. Checking websites such as GasBuddy.com or GasPriceWatch.com can tell you the most affordable local places to stop and fill up your tank.
  • Combine trips. When you drop the kids off for soccer practice, go to the grocery store, drop off the dry cleaning or head to the gym. The savings can really accumulate if you reduce your weekly mileage by just 10 miles a week!
  • Wait to fill up your tank until it is close to empty. You are hauling a lighter load, thus being more fuel efficient.

Your family shouldn’t have to choose between activities and budget. Keeping these few simple tips in mind can help stretch your pocketbook further and let your family do more. For more information on everyday ways to save money, visit Uniroyal’s More Mileage for Your Money blog portal.
