Bridgestone Commits to Lead-Free Wheels

Bridgestone-Lead-Free-Wheels With environmental issues paramount in the world today, a new lead-free tire feature is cruising into high-gear.

In efforts to improve the environment, Firestone Complete Auto Care™ and Firestone Racing, with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, continue their commitment by eliminating the use of lead wheel weights through committing to the EPA’s new National Lead-Free Wheel Weight Initiative. In response, Bridgestone Americas began using steel wheel weights in lieu of lead weights in the beginning of 2008.

“We’re thrilled to be a part of the Environmental Protection Agency’s new National Lead-Free Wheel Weight Initiative,” said John Sheerin, Environmental Director for BFS Retail & Commercial Operations, LLC. “All of us who support this initiative are doing our part to have a positive impact on the environment.”

Hotel Safety Tips

Hotel-saftey-tips The biggest thing when traveling away from home is making sure you are safe. When staying in a hotel it’s important to safeguard yourself and your belongings, and its very easy to do when following these tips.

Once you get to your room, keep these tips in mind:

• Keep the room door locked, especially deadbolts.

• Do not let anyone in your room without properly identifying them first. Use the door's peep hole, if there's any question concerning the person's identity, ring the front desk as soon as possible.

• Safeguard your room key at all times. Do not give your key to others. Do not leave your key in the room or in the door.

• Find the location of the two exits nearest your room. Also, count the number of doors between your room and the nearest exit so you will have a reference point if the hallway is smoky. Locate alarms and extinguishers in your area. Look out the window and note height and surroundings for reference.
