Tips for Destination Wedding Travel

Married-couple So you’ve decided on some fabulous exotic location for your wedding. Now what? Destination weddings can save you a lot of money compared to large traditional ceremonies; however, they do require a lot careful planning.

The experts at destinationweddings.com have provided us with some of their expert travel tips to make sure your trip and special day is nothing but smooth sailing.

Here is where to start:

1. Know yourself.  Close your eyes and picture your big day. If you’ve already chosen your location, make a list of the things that are most important to you. You need to make sure the location really offers what you want. Is a beach setting important to you?  Do you want a formal reception? Are you going to want pre-planned events for you and your guests prior to your wedding? Are you content to lie on the beach in the days leading up to your wedding, or are you one to explore rainforests or fly through the trees on a zip line? Do you need fine dining? Make a list of all the things you want in a destination wedding, and then locations you think would be a perfect fit for your dream day.
